Research Interests
Asian post-war modern thoughts

Research Project
My research interests include the Cold War history in East Asia, colonial history, Asian post-war modern thoughts, and particularly, Taiwan’s and Mainland China’s films and literatures during the 1970s. By investigating into the intersection of visual and literary works, I intend to explore the energy of thoughts burst forth from the cultural and political transformation in two sides of the strait as well as the concealed violence caused by the Cold War and the nation states. Meanwhile, more specific problems including post-war modernization, democracy movements, gentrification in big cities, new technologies, and the changing social subjectivity caused by the historical transformations will also be put on the agenda.
